LA Roche Posay Mela B3 Dual Body Treatment 200ml

A body treatment from the La Roche-Posay Mela B3 range, for skin on the body that shows persistent dark spots, dullness and rough texture. La Roche-Posay calls it the first body treatment powered by Melasyl. It is a fluid lotion in a 200 ml tube, sized for the wide areas where body marks usually sit - arms, shoulders, back, chest and legs.

Key ingredients

• Melasyl (2-mercaptonicotinoyl glycine), the molecule the Mela B3 range is named for. The brand describes it as targeting discoloration while respecting the natural tone of all skin, and as the result of 18 years of research.
• Niacinamide, a water-soluble form of vitamin B3, which the brand includes to help visibly fade discoloration.
• LHA (capryloyl salicylic acid), a salicylic acid derivative that the brand credits with exfoliating and skin-surface renewing properties. It is the third active in the formula and it is why the treatment works on rough texture as well as on tone.

How to use

• Apply twice daily to the areas of the body with discoloration, dullness and rough texture.
• One application hydrates for 24 hours. If skin wants more, the brand's own direction is to layer Lipikar AP+M over the top afterwards to lock in moisture - this treatment is not meant to replace a richer body moisturiser.
• For the body only. Do not apply it to the face - La Roche-Posay sells separate Mela B3 products for facial skin.
• The formula contains an exfoliating salicylic acid derivative and is left on the skin, so use daily sun protection of SPF 30 or higher on the areas you treat.

Good to know

This is a cosmetic body care product that works on the appearance of dark spots and uneven tone. It is not a medicine and it makes no promise about what caused the marks. The formula is perfumed and contains alcohol denat. For external use only, on intact skin - do not apply it to broken or damaged skin. Avoid contact with the eyes and rinse with water if any gets in.
