600 mg Calcium Carbonate.
800 IU Vitamin D.
Calcium replacement/Supplement, used to prevent or treat negative calcium balance; in osteoporosis, it helps to prevent or decrease the rate of bone loss.
Vitamin D is enhancing the absorption of calcium.
Indications:
⢠Calcium supplementation: for use as a dietary supplement when calcium intake may be inadequate (e.g. osteoporosis, osteomalacia, hypocalcaemia rickets).
How to use:
One tablet daily with or after meal.
Active Ingredients:
Calcium Carbonate, Vitamin D.
Side effects:
⢠Hypercalcemia.
⢠Flatulence.
⢠Abdominal Distension.
⢠Constipation.
Cautions:
⢠Mild to moderate renal failure or mild hypercalciuria. Periodic check of plasma calcium levels and urinary calcium excretion should be made.
⢠History of renal stones.
⢠In long-term treatment, it is advisable to monitor serum and urinary calcium levels and kidney function.
⢠Stop treatment if urinary calcium exceeds 7.5 mmol / 24 hours calcium carbonate.
⢠Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcaemia or hypercalciuri.
Interactions:
⢠Bisphosphonates: calcium reduces absorption of bisphosphonates. Separate by 2 hours.
⢠Thyroid Products: Calcium Salts may diminish the therapeutic effect of Thyroid Products. Separate by 4 hours
⢠Thiazide and Thiazide-Like diuretics: may decrease the excretion of calcium salts. continued concomitant use can also result in metabolic alkalosis.
